Christmas cheer comes to South Molton

South Molton’s Christmas lights have been switched on by John Acres, the breakfast show presenter for BBC Radio Devon.

Hundreds packed into The Square to watch music from Sam Dowden and tributes to the valuable work of the charities South West Blood Bikes and The Benita Project.

South Molton Town Council said, “Our Christmas lights switch-on last night was the busiest one we’ve ever had, and the energy was unbelievable. Thank you to everyone who came, what a way to kick off Christmas!”

Next weekend sees the start of the annual Christmas tree festival in St Mary Magdalene Church from December 4th to 8th, the Lantern Parade, Winter Wonderland and late night shopping on December 5th, and the Fatstock Show in South Molton Pannier Market on December 7th.
