How it begins, and how it ends

Magazine flat plan

The ‘flat plan’ remains the best way for me to set out the magazine pages

The November 2025 Molton Monthly Magazine

The November 2025 edition of Molton Monthly Magazine goes out for delivery from Wednesday, October 22nd

Every month I sit down with the three blank sheets of my ‘flat plan’ to work out what will go where in the next edition of Molton Monthly Magazine.

Things change right up to the deadline for sending to print. This month for example, a late breaking story about Princess Anne visiting British Wool in South Molton to celebrate their 75th anniversary needed to be included, so I decided to hold the story about Pine Martens being released on Exmoor and run with the royal visit instead.

New advertisers join each month, and some take a break or stop for various reasons. I used to worry about it, but it seems that most months new and old balance each other out thankfully. We have several new advertisers lined up for 2026, and the December and January editions are already sold out.

So here I am about to drop off the November edition of Molton Monthly Magazine with your local delivery team, but the empty December flat plan is on my desk and I have half an eye on January and beyond!

Just to let you know that the December issue will be delivered a little later than normal this year - in the first week of December rather than the last week of November. This is because I have to wait for pictures for my festive issue from the South Molton Christmas lights switch on - normally this is in mid November but this year it’s on Friday 28th.
